I’ve used video – but not everyone has the software to view it. And for many people who don’t have the latest pc’s it takes forever to load. So I use it sparingly.
I use it a lot. I happen to webmaster two sites that are arts-related and most of the students and visitors have high speed internet connections. I stream it from a flash media server.

I want to be able to sell video off my website..using avi with watermark…any suggestions?
I’d be interested in knowing what formats are viable for cross platform applications other than Flash. I’m interested in developing online course material and video would be a great benefit.
I’ve found the easiest way of embedding video is using YouTube’s embedding feature. I know that not a lot of people like it for various reasons, but I’m quite happy with it.
If video required I want to prefer flash video on web. The reason is most of the internet users have flash players. If video is required for your website you can use otherwise video files are not invite customers on your site.
