My Thoughts
I like the colors on this site - they are very strong and vibrant. The sheer amount of yellows and oranges might be overwhelming to some people, but personally, I like it. Good job on the XHTML - it validates XHTML 1.0 transitional, just as your icon states (you'd be surprised how many sites don't, even with the icon).

The page is very wide - when I shrank my browser window down to 800x600, there was a lot in the horizontal scroll bar. However, when I scrolled, it seemed like only the header was really that wide. It fits just fine in 1024x768, but there is then a lot of empty whitespace. Normally, I like whitespace, but the nearly 1 inch between the text column and the 2 inches on the right ended up being very distracting (nevermind the huge amount of blank space at the bottom beside the footer sunflower).

Since I've been focused on SEO lately, I decided to look at your page in terms of search engine optimization. I evaluated your site for keyword density, and found that it's pretty low (at least the home page is). The highest density is for your company name "Aurora Media", which is great if your company name is well known. But the density is only 2.33%, which is very low for a primary search phrase. You should be aiming for between 3 and 7% for your primary keyword phrase. Now, based on your site topic, I'd bet your primary keyword phrase would be "web design" (which currently has a density of 1.94%), but that's a tricky phrase to try to optimize for - because it's extremely popular. I would try to come up with something even more specific to your company that you have a better chance of ranking highly for. You might ask yourself:

  • What does my company do that is unique or special?
  • Do we have a connection with certain types of clients?
  • Do we have skills that are uncommon in the Web design industry?
  • Is our location an asset?

Use your answers to those questions to come up with a keyword phrase that is more specific and optimize your home page for that phrase.
