Poll: Is SEO important to you?
Thursday March 6, 2008
- pay for links and text ads
- buy graphic ads (and more elaborate rich format ads such as in Flash)
- buy ads in other media (magazines, radio, television)
- networking
- word of mouth
- client referrals
In fact, sometimes SEO isn't the best way to get business for your site - especially if your site topic is very regionalized or heavily saturated with competitors. I know a lot of Web designers who rely more on word of mouth and client referrals to grow their business than they do on organic search and SEO.

SEO is important to me as a web*er inasmuch as it is important to my clients. Basic SEO like using valid (X)HTML and not leaving tags or attributes that bots value empty (or full of crud) can make a big difference, especially if the topic is regionalized or the competition is using a cookie-cutter web solution like their hosting providers WYSWYG site builder (a lot of small businesses still think they can’t afford better or don’t understand that it makes a difference)
I agree with the above. Its important but its not always important depending on the web application you are doing. I would suggest adding an option saying “Yes, if the project deems necessary.” =]
SEO had landed me in trouble with Google. Now i no longer worry about it. I go by what Google says - Content is King - and it has paid dividends. I think SEO experts should stop worrying about trying to discover Google’s algorithm and allow people to set up their content-rich websites or blogs.
yep! seo is really important on getting your site visible in search engines.. coz the more site visiblity you have the more chance of possible client.
