Structure Your Documents Using Heading Tags

Heading tags are often misused or at least misunderstood in HTML documents. They are intended to provide a structure to your Web documents, but many Web designers don't like how they render in browsers, so they use them sparingly or in a less-than-structured order. For example, because of the way that Web browsers render un-styled H1 tags, many designers have gotten into the habit of using H2 instead. But there are many advantages to using heading tags in a structured order and you can always use CSS to style the headlines to look exactly how you want them to.
