One site I manage posts videos of products and we have videos of dance performances on my wife’s school site. We are planning to add a tour of the school video for prospective students.
Sometimes. I use video if it adds ‘value’ to the web page, but not as a replacement for text. Video is great when it can be used for building trust between the website owner and the website user. I have a video on my FAQ page.
IF I do add a video, I’m more likely to include more than 1 format for it, abd only if the video is in a good enough quality.
And if the video is relevant to something important.
Other than that, I normally don’t add videos.
I have only ONE video on my web site. It is an excellent illustration of what fun a sea cruise can be. It is found on the Reviews area (2007). Other than this, I’ve avoided it due to the slower loading.
Happy Dae.

The only video I have used is on a designated video page. I can understand where is may be needed, but I don’t want to have a video automatically start when I am browsing the web.
Video is being used more and more. Americans like to watch, hate to read and look at pictures. if your video is done well and comes up immediately, then it will be a positive method for your site to make money. Professional Video + Quality Graphics = great returns on your website. Today’s new technology to add video to a website and have the video play like a tv commercial is available and not expensive - check out my website and you will find the secret.
I use video occasionally to enhance a page, but never as a replacement for text. The sites I manage are for non-profit community organizations and are designed to provide information and make it easy for people to become involved. I think videos are great for generating interest, but not so good at providing “when and where” information.
I believe your system is somewhat outdated, if I may say that. With the correct hosting company you can upload videos without any coding knowledge and you can play as many videos on the screen as you would like. You can use Quick Time for Mac users, Windows for PC users and flash for any one else. The flash loses quatlity so I don’t use it very much. If you look at my site that is what I do, I put a video with the website or commercial.Video + Graphics = Wits End Productions.
