Dreamweaver Public Beta

Wednesday May 28, 2008
Adobe is launching a public beta of Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Soundbooth. Anyone can join the beta, but only CS3 customers will have access (using their CS3 product serial number) for more than 48 hours. If you're interested, you can download the beta from Adobe Labs.

Very good information about the Dreamweaver Public Beta. Dreamweaver is a great tool for building websites, if you don’t hand code. Thanks for the info.

Ahhh I don’t like Dreamweaver, but guess that’s because I hand code, mostly.

I’ve seen so many sites with nested style1.. style19.. style5.. ugh, thanks to Dreamweaver

Only good thing I like about Dreamweaver is the automatic upload on update — but sometimes you don’t want that, either, I always make my ftp client prompt me before overwriting a file

Tried out the CoffeeCup Free Editor, went back to my trusty EditPlus3 text editor

This “free” public beta is just a marketing ploy to get you to buy the product… guess try before buy makes sense

Randall: well if it’s just a marketing ploy, it’s not a very good one. I’ve crashed the beta twice already. Adobe has always had trialware versions of their software available for 30-day trials. But those come out after the product is released. This really is a beta - with bugs and crashes that I expect will be fixed in the final release.
