Are you polite when you request links?

Getting links to your articles and your sites is a great way to promote your pages and get new visitors. But getting links can be difficult. Do you have any techniques for getting other people to link to your articles and pages? This article provides some suggestions for how to get links and how to be polite about it.

The best advice - which you provide in your article - is to start by linking to the sites you would like links from. I think this is common sense, but what makes sense to me may be overlooked by someone else.
