The evolution of SEO

Sunday August 17, 2008
It seems like everyone is talking about SEO these days - even my mom knows she should think about how to get ranked in search engines if she wants people to find her site. But really, SEO isn't that old - in fact, Web design itself really isn't that old. But William Flaiz of Search Engine Watch has written a great article on how SEO has changed as it's grown - The Evolution of SEO. Where are you on the SEO evolutionary scale?

(1) John Sylvester says:

It is very true, when stated in The Evolution of SEO article, “SEO must to go beyond the text-on-the-page approach and encompass all digital assets.” This includes link building, article writing, blogging, video, social bookmarking, mobile… In fact, all digital media is becoming part of business’s “digital assets”. But as we shift into the new realm “from back rooms to boardrooms” it would a nice gesture if the search engines took more of the boardroom than backroom approach to the heavy weighting of domain names in their algorithms. By registering a “keyworded” domain name, you stand a far better chance in placement than ever before. But then, if in today’s world it’s the boardroom that are now the decision-makers, where does this leave corporate branding in the digital mix?
