8 New SEO Reports - and some SEO hints

Wednesday September 3, 2008

Here are 8 more SEO reports that I worked on today. Some things I noticed that were trends in the submissions include:

  • poorly thought out keywords
If you want to optimize a page on a keyword phrase it needs to have it on the page.
  • too many keywords
trying to optimize one page for four different keyword phrases is a fools errand. You'd do better to write four separate pages and optimize each one.
  • optimizing the home page
So many people want their home page to be optimized for search, but want it optimized for tons of different keywords. This isn't possible. It's better to just work on optimizing your lower-level pages for specific terms and then rely on the home page as a marketing tool.

But you don't care about the hints, you just want the reports, right? Here they are:

If you would like your page reviewed for SEO effectiveness, just fill out the form here: Get Your Web Page Reviewed for SEO. Remember that it could take several months or more before your page is reviewed, so please don't submit it multiple times. Thanks!

(1) decibel.places says:

A couple of years ago I was contracted to write an article on PHP and SEO. When I submitted it, I was told, “You can’t put your name on it - this is ghost writing” - so I took the $$$ and not the credit.

The article remains very popular, primarily because I condensed some basic SEO practices within it.

I have also found this bizarre version, apparently a product of automatic translation software.
