Chrome/Scrhome - CS4 is what I'm looking forward to

Wednesday September 3, 2008

Why does Chrome have so much media play? (And yes, I'm aware of the irony of me giving Chrome media play to complain about how much media play it's getting...) Bottom line, it already has security flaws, it's got (best description) a scary EULA, and it's built by Google (which is neither good, nor bad, but does generate hype). It's been out for 2 days and I'm already bored of it. Back to surfing the W3C for an interesting new XML spec to read.

But what I'm really looking forward to is the expected release of CS4 on September 23. I'd put it on pre-order with Amazon right now if I could. (If you know how, please let me know!) I know, they won't have a 64-bit version for Mac, but since my Mac isn't 64-bit, I don't care. I just want the latest software, and I'm tired of waiting! And before you ask, I'll be getting Design Premium.

Ive been using prerelease of CS4, and its got some nice litte features. But theres still afew bugs to be ironed out. Theres a great tabbing system in Photoshop… which is genius.

I’m testing chrome second day right now and I see some good sides of it. It’s fast… faster than FF. It has bigger display field, due to no standard status bar, and no menu bar on the top. On my 15,4″ laptop browsing pages is better than in other browsers. There are some improvments in tab system, and now single tab is separate process, so tabs don’t affect on other tabs preformance so much like in FF. And now something for webdesigners and developers: chrome resource inspector! built in inspector/editor like firebug in FF. Great idea ! It’s clearer, more readible, and it has some neat functions :)
Although it is little boring, no fancy plugins, widgets, we must remember that this is just BETA !
It has potential and I know it will evolve in good direction. Google projects are well-thought-out, chrome is a good example of this.
But I agree… chrome EULA sux ;) some lame lawyers had to put their fingers in it and chrome blaze was darkened… but I hope that it will be changed.
Still FF rulez at this moment, but Chrome is on best way to change that in close future. It all depends on next steps of its evolution

I’ve been able to use the beta version of Dreamweaver and I like what I see so far. I’m anxious to find out what new features Photoshop has to offer.
