Hi,

I am a web designer, working for the last 7 years. I am using DreamWeaver from the very begining. I think its the best software for creating static as well as dynamic web pages. Apart from that Visual Studio is definitely a strong tool with lots of features for dynamic pages.

I agree with dipz, dreamweaver all the way. However, initially i did start out using frontpage and after a while got really annoying at its poor use of html, it uses excessive tags to do simple things.

I use Dreamweaver for so many years now. It’s the best. Since Adobe got the license it’s a perfect suite with illustrator and photoshop, cause their Adobe GoLive was a failure.

I have been using Dreamweaver for almost 2 years now and I have recently switched to Smultron and Cyberduck and I am much happier. Don’t get me wrong, I think Dreamweaver has a lot of good things going for it but I prefer to have a large workspace and I don’t want a WYSIWYG editor anymore. I would recommend Smultron to anyone looking to move away from their WYSIWYG. 2 sparkling thumbs up. :-)

I said it elsewhere, I don’t own and don’t use Dreamweaver.

Some of my designer colleagues do use it, and they send me these awful recursive tables with unscrutable style names.

Sometimes the PHP code is stripped out and has to be replaced.

I have no use for Dreamweaver, I use EditPlus a good text editor with HTML/Javascript/CSS/PHP support - for Java an IDE like Eclipse.
