Ouch - Security and Web hosts is very important

I went to one of my favorite sites this morning to read a little about Web design, and came upon this error message (site name redacted to protect the innocent). Having been the victim of several different types of hacks, I can tell you that that message is one of the hardest to write for a Web designer. Of course, taking the call from your Vice President when she finds out about the problem is pretty hard too. :-) Web security is not something you should ignore. Nor should you rely on your Web hosting provider to do it all. I recommend learning as much as you can about site security, especially if you use PHP. But the best solution for most people is to hire a security consultant to periodically evaluate your site.
