Web Design Software Pick of the Week: W3C CSS Validator

There aren't a lot of stand-alone CSS validators available, but of the ones I could find (and a couple HTML validators with CSS included) one of the best is the W3C CSS validator. It offers all the features I was looking for in a CSS validator including:
- Validate files as HTML with CSS embeded or plain CSS files
- Validate CSS as a file upload, URL, or pasted chunk of code
- Validates Level 2, Level 3, and aural style sheets
- And it shows warnings when there is a problem that isn't exactly an error
I think that using validators is an important step the the process of a Web design. If you don't take the time to

Good advice. All sites should pass the w3c validation. Its really helps with organic search engine indexing.
Thanks for the info

I’ve been using this validation for a while now. I am going to start putting their badge on my sites.
I wouldn’t bother leaving the badge they offer, but I would certainly take the time to validate. I can come up with several reasons to validate, but the best one is that it will save time in the future because it makes finding and fixing errors easier.
Great tool. I use it extensively (I like the little badges). Very important to revalidate as you update your site – even a small typo will cause your site to fail and might come across as unprofessional for anyone checking…
The Jigsaw SOAP validation Service is wonderful for extended tests. We use it in our self written tools and for auto-validation in CMS.
