Poll: Do you work on one design project at a time or do you multitask?

Freelancers often make good multitaskers because we have to get a lot done in very little time. But some of us prefer to task switch - where you have multiple projects going, but you only work on one at a time. And of course some of us only work on one thing at a time.

I’m currently working on two. If you plan well, it’s not that hard, even with more.

I always have two or three on the go at any time.

Customers love to add features / change what they want / outright vanish all over the place so I generally end up multi-tasking like crazy.

I tried using a program that was meant to help organize time and tasks… it wasn’t up to it. Back to calendar and copious amounts of notepaper and post its.

We typically have at least 3 projects at any given time, however, right now we have 7. It’s crazy, but it is really helping us develop new methodologies and streamline our production processes.

You have to multitask. I often have one big project going and then several small tasks I have to do at the same time, like correcting product information or fixing something that’s come up in Analytics or just responding to a client’s email.

I remember a time last year when we had 16 concurrent projects running! It’s better however to go for quality rather than quantity ;-)
