It's getting colder up here. We had a pellet stove installed at the beginning of the October, and we're starting to use it a lot. I love having a fireplace again! I've also gotten deep into editors for the last few weeks. Hopefully I can get the reviews done quickly. But on to the website!
Introducing a New Site Feature
I have been given the opportunity to beta test a new feature coming to all About.com websites soon - user submitted articles and pictures. I would love to see your submissions, and I got a number in just the few weeks it was live in October.
- How to Become a Web Designer - find out how others did it or share your story.
- Favorite Web Designs - These are examples of great Web design and my favorites will be showcased in my blog on Wordless Wednesdays. Submit your favorite site.
- Where to Find Good Clients - Find out where other freelancers have the best luck and share your success stories.
- Web Hosting Providers - A chance for hosting providers to tell you about themselves. If you own or work for a Web hosting provier submit a profile.
What Are People Commenting On?
There were only 63 comments in October. But I wasn't posting a lot either. The most popular posts were:
- Do You Optimize Content for Search Engines?
- Is Your Hosting Provider Green?
- Do you multitask or work on one project at a time?
- Do You Write Content for Websites?
- Where do you find freelance work?

In the Forums
In the Web Design forum there were 89 new members and 77 new messages. In the HTML/XML forum there were 43 new members and 51 new messages. The most prolific posters to both forums were:
