Poll: How interested are you in CSS 3?

CSS 3 is the latest version of Cascading Style Sheets and it adds a lot of exciting features like opacity, stretching background images, new pseudo-classes, and a lot more. There are a lot of CSS 3 selectors that work right now even in Internet Explorer. Now that I've told you all that, are you going to change your vote? :-) How interested in CSS 3 are you?

Yes, I am. Doubtless, it is interesting. Hope it will fully adopted as a standard soon.

CSS3 is long overdue, specially for page layout formatting. However we will have to wait at least 3 years before being able to implement it fully in commercial web sites.
Like for the HTML5 video support standard, there are going to be proponent of this one or that one and the bickering will go forever! So its better to hold off until it’s fully supported.

CSS 3 sounds actually pretty good. Question is, which version of the currently used browsers support CSS3 already?
It’s useless to write in CSS version 3 already if a targeted browser doesn’t support it. So, the browser support question is the crucial question that brings a decision about usability.

The sooner we get our feet wet in CSS3, the more prepared we’ll be when browser support for it finally reaches critical mass.

Definitely interested… up to the point to be involved in its development ^^ (well, as much as I can, even if that isn’t really much).

It’s true, as some have commented, that it takes a while to get the new standard usable for web authoring (due to legacy browsers still out there); but as a matter of fact, CSS3 is getting there faster than CSS2 did. Actually, you can’t entirely count on full CSS2.1 support yet, since IE7 has a significant ammount of bugs.
This slowness is intrinsic to the W3C process, but it’s there to prevent something to go as wrong as CSS2 did.

BTW, for all those who are interested, CSS development is a quite open process where feedback from the whole Web community is welcome. Take a look at http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/current-work#contribute if you think you have something to say ;)

I have just learnt CSS2. It has been an enjoyable but difficult learning process.. My first “live” website http:/exclusivewebs.co.uk made only possible by Jennifer and Ask. Your tutorials have been a god send. However I will Not be learniing CSS3 untill it is accepted by all browsers IE included. When that time happens Jeniffer and her tutorials will be my first port of call. Thank you

I’ll be more interested in CSS3 when all the major browsers finally get “CSS1″ right.

Until then, CSS from my programming experience (no matter the version) for cross browsers still SUCKS. I will continue to tweak my web pages with PHP, which is a much more reliable way to go (and under my total control).
