If you started web design as a print designer, you might be frustrated by how web browsers handle large amounts of content. When I worked with content management systems, our designers would create blocks for text that needed very specific amounts of text. If the content developers put in too much (or sometimes not enough), the design could be messed up. These days I use these overflow CSS properties to define exactly how the browser should handle text that is too long for the containing box.
