Is Your Coding Affected by Fads?

How many of these fads do you recognize?

The other day, I got a message from a reader accusing me of presenting outdated and incorrect code on one of my pages. I checked out the page and updated it, but what I found interesting was that the primary issue that this person was objecting to was not invalid or incorrect HTML. It's just out of fashion to do it.

Fads are something that you might think wouldn't affect HTML because there is a standards body that works with browser makers to decide what is and isn't correct HTML. But in reality, fads in coding are just as common as they are in toys (like the toys I list in the image here). Find out some of the HTML that is currently out of fashion, but still perfectly valid.

I think it’s perfectly normal to have a coding style.
It doesn’t matter what kind of HTML elements you’re using — it’s just normal as long as it is efficient and brings you the results you want.
