While most of you are probably looking for a new laptop computer, I've found that for the money, desktop computers are a better value. The

As a graphic designer that works in the Website Design Industry, I would never use a budget pc. I have a 20 year love affair going with apple and why stop now. Honestly, I have both a high end pc laptop and a high end mac, and I never use the pc, except to make sure that poor saps on pc’s can see the site in all it’s glory. Pc users are looking forward to vista (an osx knock-off) which we have been using for 5 years!
Mark: you are SO right. I’ve just gotten gun shy about proposing that buying something for Web design work that costs more than the minimum you can spend (preferably free) is a good idea.
Personally, I have two flat screen monitors on as high-end a system as I can afford when I upgrade, and I upgrade my computer system every two years or so. My computer is how I make my money, and I’m not willing to skimp on the tool that pays my mortgage.
