How do you make your pages interesting?

When dynamic HTML or DHTML started getting popular I was not terribly impressed.
Most people used DHTML to float images across the screen and do other things with animation. And it wasn't very pretty. Most of the time, there was almost no point to it. But with the advent of techniques that work across different browsers, and the use of scripts for more than just blinking silliness, DHTML (or Ajax, or DOM scripting, or whatever you call it) is coming into its own.

I think the number one thing that makes a site interesting is having interesting content. Also, interactivity like comments on articles and forums. Of course, for comments and forums to be interesting, you need interesting, participating users. Like me
