Which is the best editor?
Well, Allaire
HomeSite was far and away the most popular choice from
respondants. There was one person who wrote me twice with information about
Homesite and why it's the best editor.
I was so impressed with the responses that I got, that I downloaded it and am
going to try it out! Vim is a hard act to follow, but you all seem to swear
by this editor. I'll let you know in a few weeks what I think of it.
More Survey Results
In my two ongoing surveys about browsing vs. editing
and monitor stats I've
discovered some interesting things:
- Just because someone browses with IE (46%) doesn't mean that her pages
would be written solely for IE (46%). There were one or two people who stated
that they browse with Netscape and write for IE (are you just trying to make
yourself miserable?). The same goes the other way with 54% browsing with
Netscape and 31% writing solely for Netscape. 23% of respondents stated that
they write for something else (both browsers? WebTV? Amaya?).
- I need to add Allaire Homesite to the editor list as 46% of you stated
that you use something other than listed (31% -- text editor, 23% --
FrontPage).
- Lots of people have 14 inch monitors (46%) with high resolution (64K or
greater) colors (62%). This is good news for artists who don't like being
restricted to a small (216-color) palette.
- There is at least one person out there who is rapidly going blind on a
smaller than 14 inch monitor at 1024x768 resolution and 16.7 million colors.
WOW!
