Summary
The first thing you see when you look at this home page is the large photo on the left with some clocks in it and a blurred man. This image says "Global Security Solutions". This may be a summary of the company, and what it does - but it's not really clear.

Products/Services
Enterprise products and services are called out directly on the page in the lower right corner. But many consumers would not know what that means. Below that is "Shop Home & Home Office" with the sub-head "Norton AntiSpam 2004". This sounds like it might be a product, and the explanatory text below it seems to confirm that ("Filters out unwanted email").

There is also a section called "Security Response USA". This has several dates and some words that would not make sense to the average consumer - "W32.Titog.C.Worm", etc. Below that are some downloads, but most of them are very technical and wouldn't help the average consumer.

Links to More Information
At the top of the page, Symantec has a navigation link to "about symantec" that should provide more information about the company. Plus, there is a site index and search link right at the top of the page. And finally, at the bottom is a "contact us" link.

Above the Fold
Symantec keeps most of the important information above the fold. The about links and the corporate summary are above the fold, and the product information is close to the scroll-line, but just above it on most browsers.
