Macromedia announces their latest in a series of revelations in the Web industry. This time, they've put together an entire system revolving around Contribute that allows organizations to manage their Web publishing in a way that works with the people rather than against them. Their idea? Have the people do what they are already used to doing.
IT These people are hired to manage systems and servers. They shouldn't be employed designing Web pages or putting up content. And in the Macromedia system, they are assigned the management track.
Developers These people are the designers of the Web sites. They keep the pages looking correct and the site brand strong. Asking them to administer the site will just get in their way, and asking them to write content is not the best use of their skills. In the Macromedia system, they use Dreamweaver to create the site layout and design.
Business Units They create the content for other collateral, why are they not creating the content on your Web site? With the Macromedia Web publishing system, they can, and without having to learn HTML or a difficult program.
Some New Features of Contribute 3
- Simple Workflow
You can use Contribute to send content through a simple review process including several people. - FlashPaper for the Mac
Now FlashPaper will run on both Windows and Mac platforms to allow collaboration with documents quickly and easily. - Shared Assets
Administrators can set up images and other assets as shared so that the content publishers use the images that are common with your entire organization.
What Makes Up the Publishing System?
