Small Caps - A Font Variant
Different from All Caps

One of the lesser used variations in fonts is the small caps variant. With small caps, the lower case letters look like smaller versions of the upper case letters, while the upper case letters are full size.

Uses of Small Caps

One of the best uses of small caps is for acronyms that might attract too much attention if normal-sized capital letters are used. For instance, with the time e.g. 9PM. With small caps you can call out the acronym or the time within the text without impacting the flow. See the examples.

Assign the Small Caps Style

There are only two options on the font-variant style property: small-caps and normal.

font-variant: small-caps;
