Use CSS with FrontPage

By Jennifer Kyrnin, About.com

It's as easy to add styles to your Microsoft FrontPage Web as it is to change styles in a Word document. The interface is very similar to what you're used to in Word.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Open your FrontPage Web and click on "Style" in the "Format" menu.
If you already have styles defined, the selectors will display in the Styles window.
  2. To create a new style, click "New..." This opens the "New Style" window. Type the name of the class, id, or element you want to define a style for.
  3. Click on the "Format" button and choose the style type you want to modify: font, paragraph, border, numbering, or position.
You can add multiple styles to the same selector.
  4. Once you've added all the style elements you want (you can see what you've added in the "Description" area), click "OK" to return to your document.
  5. To apply inline styles that you've added, select the text or objects you want to apply the style to.
  6. Go up to the style drop-down box (it usually says "Normal" and is the first drop-down on the left), and choose the style you want to use.

Tips:

  1. For valid CSS, be sure to add the final semi-colon (;) on each selector in the HTML view.
