Backing up your data is crucial. We all know that. But sometimes, we skimp. Lucky Luke didn't appear to be so lucky:

A few days ago I upgraded my computer, two hard disks, two external backups. Build new XP system disk, booted the computer and XP found everything.

Now I finally could remove lots of old things from the old IDE hard disks. Deleted the catalog "Projects_2005". Got a message asking "are you sure?", the catalog was too big for Recycle Bin. I smiled, yes of course, grab another cup of tea, and oooooopppsssss!!!!.

50GB with data gone, no backup. My external backup disks were still empty! Turned my head slowly...anybody looking at me? Of course not, my office is at home. Started up Firefox, googled for recovery programs. and found "Stellar Phoenix". Ordered, installed, and started that program.

The program was working long, looooong....

Finally, the program found lots of old trash, including "Projects_2005". I ordered the program to move everything out to one of the backup disks. It was not recommended to overwrite the original.

I didn't loose a single bit!!

I love those guys at Stellar Phoenix.
