Deleting live files is a popular theme in Web horror stories. You press a wrong button or maybe your cat walks across the keyboard and months of work is gone "poof". But did you know that a typo could take you out?

When testing one of my programs I used sample data from the real file and called it something like Realfile.test when finished I deleated Realfile,test. The ,test was interperted as a paramiter not as part of the file name. The Realfile was an entire Weeks inputs from 2,000 Realters in this area. A memo went out and they had to reenter all data from the previous week.
Ouch!
