Windows Text HTML EditorsText editors are HTML editors that allow you to manipulate the HTML tags directly. Some HTML text editors also include a WYSIWYG editor, while others are purely text. This is my list of the best HTML text editors for Windows. HTML Notepad is a great editor for people who are used to using Microsoft Notepad, and want something more specific to writing HTML. SciTE is a source code editing program for Windows. I wouldn't recommend using it for Web editing, but if you need to make quick changes to your HTML, this program will do the job. Zend Studio is a PHP IDE that works well for most Web designers who need to manage PHP Web sites. Standard edition does not include database connectivity or FTP and the Pro version does. eWebEditPro is an online, browser-based Web editor for businesses. The idea behind this editor is that it offers WYSIWYG editing capability wherever you are. You just pull up a browser, go to the page that needs editing and login to the editor to edit it. NoteTab Pro is a very powerful, and inexpensive text editor with really good HTML support. It integrates seamlessly with some popular HTML validation tools and allows writers to convert text to HTML and back to text quickly and easily. Feature highlights: Built-in validator as well as XHTML editing. Cooktop is an XML editor. It has color coding and other text editing features. You can also attach style sheets and XSLT for transformations. HotDog PageWiz is a slimmed down WYSIWYG editor with text editor support. It is designed to grow with you as you learn to build Web pages. As you feel more comfortable, you can enable more features and flexibility. Zend Studio is a PHP IDE that works well for most Web designers who need to manage PHP Web sites. Standard edition does not include database connectivity or FTP and the Pro version does. XMLFox is a validating XML editor that can be used to write XHTML. If you're planning on using this for Web pages, be sure you understand HTML. XMLPro is a validating XML editor. It is not easy to use as an XHTML editor, but it is possible. It is free to individuals, education, and non-profits. I couldn't find pricing for businesses.
