Comments from developer: I am the artist of this site and built it myself so I could update it myself. My objective is easy navigation and to sell paintings and prints. I use Macintosh so I check things in Safari, Firefox and Opera. I know it's not well validated because I don't have lots of time to learn all that I need to learn about web building.
Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: This is a fairly standard design for a novice Web designer - in fact, it's very common to see people new to the field use center as their primary layout feature. I like the grey background pattern, it looks almost like dark canvass which fits the theme of the site. The one thing I would do to fix this site is remove the borders from the linked images. This will get rid of the blue outline around the images and make them a little easier to evaluate on their own. As Ann mentioned, there are some strange validation issues in the HTML of the page, and she has more to learn about Web design - but this is a great first site.
