Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: This is a large page. It would take 6 seconds to download on a T1 connection. The one saving grace to that size is that because it's written with CSS for the layout, it should download sequentially and so the viewer can start looking at the page before all the content has arrived. This is a portfolio site which also gives Amber a little more leeway with the size. The audience for most portfolios expects some load time, as photos are large and slow to download. What's really nice about this portfolio is how she showcases the different types of things she's designed. It really shows her versatility as a designer. She hasn't designed just Web pages, but also posters, packaging, branding, and more. I don't usually like white (or light) colored text on black backgrounds, but I think it works here. Amber is right that she needs to let the colors of her designs not be influenced by the colors of her site, and this does that well.
