Comments from developer: I would appreciate your input on what to use to load the video because it is too slow.
Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: Video is a tricky business on Web pages. They do add a lot of interest and fun to a page, but as Pauline has discovered, they can cause the pages to take forever to download. Most people seem to feel that Flash is the best solution for fast video on Web pages, but even Flash can take a long time to load. If you're going to use video on your pages, you need to keep it as optimized as possible, and only put one video on a page. More than one and you'll drastically impact the page loading time. This page is already very big, even without any video, so the first thing I would do is to drastically reduce the number of images on the page. Create the page content with CSS styled text and background colors, and what images you do use should be optimized to be as small as possible. Other design elements I'd focus on are the font sizes and colors - white text on tan is very hard to read, especially in the small size that Pauline has chosen for a lot of the body text. The navigation is very faded, such that it looks like it's greyed out and won't work when you click on it. Finally, the animated tag line is in such a fancy font, that I could hardly read it as it scrolled onto the page. If it's important enough to be a tag-line, you should put it up in a legible font.
