Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: Black, white, and blue seem to be very popular colors for many websites. As I've said before, white text on black backgrounds can be very hard to read, and that goes double for tiny font sizes. The fonts on this page are generally 10px. Sizing in pixels is fine for good control over sizes on Web pages, but they aren't very accessible - as they start out tiny, even if the viewer wants fonts to be larger. And 10px for the body text of a page is very small. I like how the ads(?) on the right column are all in the same tone/hue as the rest of the page, that is nice. But I'm guessing they are just placeholders, as they all link to this page. Or is that an error? If they are placeholders, then you might want to get some sample ads to see how those change the look of the design. I can't tell you how many designs were ruined because a gentle color scheme was overpowered by an insanely colored ad in a prominent location. Finally, if you're going to sell design services, you should start looking into CSS for things like layout (this page is tables) and typography (every paragraph uses the deprecated align attribute). It would also help you improve usability if you use heading tags (h1, h2, etc.).
