Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: In some ways, this design is nice as it takes a standard blog theme and makes it look different. But in other ways, it's somewhat annoying, as it takes the standard blog format and turns it into an advertisement. I think what bugs me the most is the huge "Click here" oval at the top of the page. It makes me think of direct marketing - you know, where you get the envelope in the mail addressed to "Resident" that says in a big red oval in the corner "You may already be a winner!" Granted, the oval on this design isn't red, but the impression it leaves me with is the same. I like the blue pulled throughout the theme, but this is completely wrecked by the huge mess of ads right at the top of the right-most column. I had to look at the page, scrolling around, for about 5 minutes before I realized that that column wasn't 100% ads. In fact the very first orange block is the RSS feed - not really an ad at all. Since Valik has so many posts on his front page, I would recommend that he trim them down a bit so that the page can load more quickly. The images on this page are very big and when you add to that the huge RSS image at the end of every post and you end up with a blog I wouldn't wait more than a second or two for.
