About Flux

Flux is an interesting web page editor that creates a new way of handling your web pages. It is very complex with a lot of advanced features. In fact it was so complex that it took me a long time to learn how to use it effectively. I strongly recommend you read the Flux Quickstart Guide or watch the screencasts to get a clear understanding of how to use it. Some of the features it has (that other web editors don't have) that I found really interesting include:

  • extensive support for JavaScript libraries like jQuery, Moo, Spry, and so on
  • support for installing grid systems like 960 Grid Systems
  • include swatches from Color Lovers
  • save your documents as ePub files to create ebooks

The HTML text editor that Flux includes is both great and limited all at once. It uses TextEdit by default, but you can change that to your own favorite text HTML editor. I love that it color codes the HTML and displays either the entire document or just the section you want to see. But it doesn't include features of HTML code editors that I prefer to see, like tag completion and HTML validation. However, since Flux is not intended to be used as a text editor, these features won't be missed by designers who don't know (or want to know) HTML.

TERRIBLE Run from this product. It has no support for it. It is cheap because people buy it and get frustrated and place the disc on the shelf and plan on dealing with it later. The WORST !!!!!!!!!!!…More
