Keywords Meta Tag Description and Uses:
The meta keywords tag is used by some search engines to indicate what search terms this page should show up under. However, many developers missuse this tag, so most search engines simply ignore it.
I recommend spending no more than 1-3 minutes writing keywords for any given web page. I use it mostly to remind myself what the page is focused on so that I can check results later to make sure it’s succeeding.
Separate keywords with a comma, and keep the length to no more than 400 characters.

Many websites recommend using the keywords tag, but I feel that the benefits are slight at best. If you must use this tag, only spend a short time on it, and don’t expect it to improve your search engine rankings in the major engines (Google, Yahoo!, and Bing).
