A great project you can use for your Web portfolio is the online portfolio itself. While most designers don't include the portfolio as a piece in their portfolio, the design, usability, layout, and so on will be seen by potential clients. So you should consider this a production piece just as important as any piece selected to be in it.
Create your online Web portfolio. Include your best projects in the portfolio and be sure to include details like:
- The site name
- A screen shot of your work or a sample on a testing server you control
- The dates you worked on the site
- A description of the work you did
- Any other relevant details
You can use a template such as the Simple Portfolio Layout on this site or you can build your own design. Remember that the design of your portfolio reflects on you just as much as any piece you put in it.
