Basic SEO Checks:

Basic elements of SEO to fix.

  • Is the keyword phrase good?
    Yes
This is a good, very specific keyword phrase. It probably won't generate a huge number of pageviews, but those that you get will get exactly what they want. I would get rid of the words "in the" as most search engines ignore them so you don't need to optimize for them.

  • Where is the keyword phrase found?
Title, H2 and H3 headlines, URL; With a keyword density of: 0.17%
In order to optimize on the history of the chapel, you need to have the word included in the text. Especially in the first sentence of the first paragraph. It's only on the page twice, so there is a lot of room for increasing the density.

Advanced SEO Checks:

  • How many links are there to the page?
    0
At the very least, you should have a link to this page somewhere else on the site. It's important to get related sites to link to your site with the keyword phrase you're trying to optimize for.

  • When was the page last modified?
    08/18/2008 21:37:36
This page appears to be in testing, and is not really ready for launch. So frequent edits are acceptable. Pages that are modified with significant content changes do well in search engines, but constant little changes can hurt your ranking.

  • Does the page validate?
Page does not have valid HTML, CSS, or accessibility.

Negative SEO:

Elements of SEO that can hurt your rank.

  • Hidden content in
    None Good!

  • URLs that are difficult to read
    None Good!

  • Spammer tricks (that could get you banned)
    None Good!

Other SEO Thoughts:

The biggest challenge here is that there are a lot of churches named "Chapel in the Pines" (or a variant). So your focus needs to be on the "history" term. You've got a great URL, but is the "teamsample" part permanent? It might work better in SEO if that were removed and it was just /history.html Another thing that would help would be to move the navigation HTML to the end of the document, and use CSS to force it where you want it. That will improve the importance of the keywords in the text.
