  • Main Headline: FitzSoft Consulting
  • Keyword phrase(s) to optimize for: Adabas

Basic SEO Checks:

Basic elements of SEO to fix.

  • Is the keyword phrase good?
    Yes
This phrase is popular, but not too high, and people are searching for it. It's only one word, and a 2-3 word phrase often works better.

  • Where is the keyword phrase found?
Image alt text, Link anchor text; With a keyword density of: 0.42%
The keyword phrase is not found in the meta title, H1 title, first paragraph of text, sub-headlines (H2, H3, etc.), emphasized throughout the text, or in the URL.

Advanced SEO Checks:

  • How many links are there to the page?
    1
There is one link to this page, but it doesn't use the keyword phrase in the anchor text. You should request more links, specifically using the keyword phrase you're targeting.

  • When was the page last modified?
    7/20/2008
This is good, keep the page up-to-date by making periodic updates. Do more than just change links or images, or you will look like you're spamming.

  • Does the page validate?
    CSS - yes
    Accessible - yes
The HTML for this page does not validate. This is important to help search engines read the page.

Negative SEO:

Elements of SEO that can hurt your rank.

  • Hidden content in
    JavaScript - yes
Content that is built in JavaScript is not easily read by search engines.

  • URLs that are difficult to read
    None Good!

  • Spammer tricks (that could get you banned)
    None Good!

Other SEO Thoughts:

The keyword is barely on this page at all, so it's almost certainly not found by search engines for this keyword. I would focus on getting the keyword into the meta title, <h1> headline and the first paragraph of text on the page (in the HTML order). As well, the keyword should be sprinkled throughout the rest of the page in headlines, bold text, and just in general. Validation is also important because it affects the apparent quality of the site.

This is the site homepage, and the keyword to be optimized for is better suited to an internal page on the site. A home page is hard to optimize as you generally want to get more information onto it than just the one keyword. I would suggest optimizing the homepage for the name of the site and create a second page inside that is optimized for the specific keyword. Make sure to have the keyword in the URL path for the new page as well as all the other advice above.
