This is a good keyword phrase in that it's very specific. The biggest problem with it is that people are probably not searching for it. When I tested, it appeared that "massage in edinburgh" was searched for, but the results are almost definitely not what Tom is looking for. In this case, I might make the keyword phrase more general - such as "edinburgh massage" or even just "reiki". - Where is the keyword phrase found?

There is one link to this site, and it's a MySpace page that is apparently the client's. This is a good use of MySpace, but it would be even better if Ian encouraged his friends to link to his site as well, and that he used his keyword phrase as the link - rather than the URL. It's important to get related sites to link to your site with the keyword phrase you're trying to optimize for.
