Publisher's Description

jEdit is a mature programmer's text editor with hundreds (counting the time developing plugins) of person-years of development behind it. jEdit beats many expensive development tools for features and ease of use.

jEdit Features

  • Written in Java
  • Color coding for XHTML and many other types of files
  • Lots of plugins and macros to customize it

Guide Comments

jEdit is primarily a text editor, but includes things like support for unicode, color coding, and allows for macros to add-in features. I like how easy it is to use, but it does strange things with code written in other editors.
