Best Web Design

There are millions of websites out there, but some inspire us, and others are just a bore. What are the websites that you think are the best designed out there? I'm not talking about the sites you built that you like, I'm talking about the ones that inspire you to be even better.

Now is your chance to nominate the best designed website from 2011. The topic doesn't matter, just the design. Nominate up to five of the best designed websites you've ever seen and in February, we'll vote on the site that About.com readers think is the best.

Nomination Rules

  • Please nominate sites other than ones that you have built. The idea is to show what sites inspire you, not simply show off your work. If you want to show off your own designs you can do so (and possibly get featured in my weekly blog) by submitting to the HTML5 Design Gallery, your current web design project, or your favorite design.
  • Nominations must include a URL. Any nomination missing a URL will not be considered.

While the number of nominations is important, all finalists are chosen by Jennifer Kyrnin, About.com Guide to Web Design and HTML. I will be choosing based on the design aesthetic of the site submitted as well as the number of nominations received. Nomination numbers will not be made public.

The 2012 About.com Readers’ Choice Awards will showcase the best products, features and services in dozens of categories. Readers’ Choice includes multiple channels ranging from technology to hobbies to parenting. Nominations will be accepted starting Jan. 18, 2012. Voting will take place from Feb. 22 through March 21 with winners announced March 30. There’s no prize—just the bragging rights that come with getting recognized by the readers of one of the most popular websites. Find out more at awards.about.com

Nominations are closed. We're sorry but we're not accepting new nominations.
