Adobe design products are useful tools for web designers. And Adobe publishes a series called "Classroom in a Book" to support individual learning. I successfully used InDesign CIB to learn that program, but felt that I needed more support to learn Illustrator. So I signed up for an online course.
PROS: Motivation to move through chapters in the CIB textbook. Clarification of new concepts through added assignments from the instructor. Some useful examples.
CONS: Limited instructor interface, the reason I signed up for the course. Time pressure to produce difficult new work. Poorly designed assignment pages leading to poor understanding of assigned work. Lack of effective evaluation of work.
I would have felt less frustration had I just slogged through the CIB book on my own and used Adobe online help videos and help pages to understand this program.
