My Review
Cubender is a software program you use to build your own website. It's also a website host company. You can choose from several different priced plans which you pay for monthly. Upfront about exactly what you get with each plan. I chose the Earth Plan, which is $13.95 per month.
Pros:
-The software makes very nice, professional looking sites in Flash or HTML. A variety of templates available to choose from
http://www.sweetsavageblood.com is one of mine
-You can add widgets for videos, music and comments from visitors
-Prices are reasonable. You are paying for use of the software and hosting
-Customer service is very good, usually a response in < than 24 hrs or you can call and speak to a live person in tech support with no waiting time
-You can redirect website URLs from another host server to Cubender or you can have them host your site directly. Hosting is included in their price packages
Cons:
-There is a learning curve. If you are completely unfamiliar with website design, the Cubender software might be challenging
-There are frustrating glitches that occur (as with any software) like the images will disappear for no reason, they are put back in, they disappear again
-Websites don't always look the same in different browsers
-You have to pay a little extra to have your specific URL, or you get the standard www.cubender/yourwebsitename.com website address, which search engines are never going to find
-You don't have much control over meta-tags and things like that for search engines
-When you go to "publish" it resends the entire site (or I just haven't found a way to make it just do one page or simply upload changes)
If you want to make your own website, and have a knack for using software, Cubender is for you. I highly recommend it.
