What do you write about in your blog?
My content consists entirely of my own research on how money behaves. From all the stipulations of a student loan, to the dynamics of the stock market, I'm interested in educating females on topics they may have otherwise never given a second thought. I try and average about a post a day keeping content current with all the new trends. I try to keep articles fun, clear, and easy to understand. It's money know-how for all the ladies interested in being money savvy.
Why did you start your blog?
While on my own personal pursuit for financial know-how, it occurred to me that no girls my age (25) knew anything about personal finance either. So rather than hogging all my research to myself, I decided to take the time to design (still in the process of), organize, and share any of my findings.
Advice
- You have to stay motivated because everybody and their dog is a web designer. Plus, web design is one of those fields that changes and adapts every second! You can't be content getting an "A" in your design class or even happy with getting one project up. People want fresh and original while keeping professional and clean. And even if your more on the design side, know the technologies behind sites. Don't just stop at front-end development. Learn WordPress and Drupal. Learn actionScript and PHP. Learn HTML5. Learn something new everyday. Stay motivated!
