What do you write about in your blog?
I cover a variety of different topics, everything from web design software, to e-commerce, to javascript. I tend to not put myself in one particular box, as many different facets of web design and publishing interest me. I think its important to give as much on different topics to keep your audience coming back. Web design is as much about marketing as it is about looking pretty so I tend to write about those process for clients as well.
Why did you start your blog?
I wanted to share all of my knowledge with others, and as I started writing it just became more and more of a creative outlet.
There's something very therapeutic about writing, and sharing your thoughts with others. When I run out of things to say - I'll stop, but for now the train is well and truly on the tracks, and I'm having alot of fun writing.
Advice
- Read lots - get the background for why things are done the way they are by reading other's source code.
- Write lots - of code. The more you jump in with your feet the more experience, knowledge and confidence you'll get.
- Get creative inspiration from other arts, and apply them to your own sites.
