Why I think this design works
I like this page because its theme matches the mother dogs name, Sol.
There is a lot going on with the page. The sun (Sol) is boiling, as is the title text. They are each 4-image animated GIFs with different noise types added to each. I designed the sun from scratch and the planet with the "Universe" program.
There is a pulsar which I designed as an 11x11 pixel animated GIF image, but by setting its size to 22x22 pixels in the HTML, it appears to be more fuzzy and less crisp than had I designed it at 22x22.
One other thing: the background is a real star field.
Tips and Tricks
- I worked on this page for several hours until I got the graphics just right. I don't know what I would do to improve it. The client loves it.
