From the article: Great Truths About Freelancing
Being a freelance Web designer is a lot of fun. You get to do fun things, be creative and have great work. What do you like best about being a freelancer? Is it the hours or the work itself? Would you trade your job for something else if you could? Share Your Story
Would you like to be caged ?
- It is all about a choice between free to do what you like and get paid for the same or to be confined to rules, policies, tantrums of those around you

Setting the Process
- Once I decided to go independent, one of the biggest perks I discovered was setting my own pace. As opposed to working in an office environment during "business hours" and on someone else's schedule, freelancing allows you to make your own schedule and work at your own pace (within reason). Granted, there are times you're working under a deadline, dealing with your client's schedule, but for the most part you can set not only your working hours, but the actual pace of your work itself.

Strike while the iron is hot
- The best thing about being a freelancer, for me, is working when I am feeling most productive, and doing something else (napping perhaps) if I am feeling particularly unproductive. Try that with a 9-5 job. Some days I get more work done between 6:00-9:00am than I could have in a full cubicle day.

Coming Into The Office
- Great article. I work for a social outsourcing site(www.vois.com) where I help Freelancers connect with buyers(who post Projects) on the site and truth be told: You would think I do this at home, but I don't, lol. I actually love coming into the office and being able to dress up. I do understand what you mean about the benefits of working from home as a freelancer. I guess it really depends on the type of work and location as far as comfort goes. Thanks!

Love the fuzzy slippers
- In all seriousness, freelancing is more comfortable. No office dress code, no worries about hair/make up or many other artificial things involved in being in a regular office. I can choose to have a business dress when I need to. Also love the opportunity to choose the way I free my brain when it gets stuck. I can chase the dog, clean my sock drawer, go for a run or bake cookies. My choice!
