The perfect keyword density is not a hard and fast rule, and some people are happier with lower or higher numbers than others. What keyword density do you strive to hit for your Web pages and why? Or do you ignore keyword density altogether? Share Your Goals

I don't Aim For Keyword Density

Hi Jennifer, when I read the title of your article I thought it was going to be all about keyword density for SEO. I was happy to read that you are not emphasizing a specific number. I 100% agree with: "Your First Rule Must Be Readability Not Keyword Density." Actually, me and other SEO practicioners totally ignore keyword density %. If it sounds good and natural to the reader, it will get picked up by search engines regardless of the %. That being said, obviously keyword stuffing (too much keyword density) or not including the keyword at all can be detrimental. Using common sense and ensuring it sounds natural should be your #1 priority. That being said, I estimate my keyword density is hovering around 1-5% typically. I'm running an SEO blog so I enjoy learning what other people think, thanks for the post. My Strategic Online Marketing Blog
