From the article: How to Use HTML 5 to Display Video in Modern Browsers
HTML 5 introduces a new and exciting tool for Web designers - the ability to easily add video to Web pages with just a few lines of HTML. But some people are still not interested in this format, either because they already use something else or they think HTML 5 is too new.
Share your reasons for using HTML 5 video or why you don't want to. If you are thinking about adding video to your site, how are you going to add it? If not HTML 5, then how? And why are you choosing that method?

Problem for flv format.

Adobe and FLV is going the way of IE.
- @Tone Williams - I disagree. FLVs days are numbered. The majority of users (based on the widely available stats) hate flash. Video has a place online, but one of either things need to change. 1. Apple (and other mobile producers etc) need to start supporting flash - or 2. Adobe need to work to make flash work in iphones etc. Otherwise, html5 will come, people will master it - and using it for video on a website will be common place. Even more so as broad band speeds pick up.

What's the point in HTML5 vid?
- I use video for certain things already, it works on all browsers, so why change it? The new technologies are fine like CSS3 & HTML5 if you have fall backs for browsers that don't support them, but I see these new things as something to play around with for now, in the next few yrs we will probably all using them, but for now, it's too hit and miss.

Adobe Flash is still the end all
- Adobe is ahead of the curve in terms of streaming video, and FLV format works wonderfully. Why fix things that aren't broken?

I'll use Flash always
- Is it an argument that you should not use Flash because 25% of your viewers don't like it? Why should they even care if you only use it for presenting, and not for a so-called "flashy" website? It maybe is an argument not to use Flash because the IPad doesn't support it, which is stupid in the first place and will be corrected some time in the future (I predict :-)). Why bother with 2 or even 3 versions of the same video when you can use one: FLV. There are many freeware website players for Flash without commercials, many excellent freeware converters to produce a FLV file from an AVI or a MOV, and many free or cheap software products that can generate the code for you to embed the video in your website that will play in all browsers, as long as they support Flash... which they all do. Apple will have to give up it's childish behaviour of trying to protect it's marketshare by making "closed shop" products anyway sometime in the future because of customer rebellion!
