There is a difference between outlines and borders

When I first learned of the CSS 2 outline property, I was a bit skeptical. After all, how many types of borders do we actually need? But there is a difference between an outline and a border, and once you understand that difference you'll be able to use the outline property to its best effect.

This seemed really neat - and then I opened it in IE to view and the outline didn’t display at all. *sigh* Some year all the browsers will actually support the same things and then we can actually USE them.

Yes, I would say that that is one of the more disappointing things missing from IE 6. But then again, it should be available in IE 7.
